We Went Along With Some Texans Fighting The Hog Infestation With Bombs, Choppers & Automatic Weapons

Pig Hunt

Guns, Helicopters, And Now… Explosives. Free Media recently went to Texas to see how people are dealing with the wild pig problem. There are currently more than 6 million wild hogs on the loose in America – tearing up crops and infecting waterways. With millions in damages each year, Texans are free to use almost anything to eradicate the pigs, including blowing them up.

The product of choice is Tannerite – a binary explosive you can pick up from your local outdoors store for $7.99 (single pack). We hung out with Matt Barnett, a federally-licensed explosives expert. He uses something a little stronger.

We also go bush-bashing on a night hunt with Matt’s neighbor, Ryan Beane, and take to the skies on a helicopter hunt.

The critics say these tactics are cruel. Locals say they take a humane approach and that it’s the most fun you can have with your pants on.
